JadaTalks Presents: Occupy Meaningful Spaces

Miami Art Week Presents:
Paid Workshop: Collecting, Curating, and Covid presented by JadaTalks

The global COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way people in the United States and around the world interact with one another. With cities under varying phases of lockdown, much of what we once did in-person has been moved into the digital space. This poses a unique set of challenges for artists and curators alike as they explore meaningful methods of occupying new environments online while also navigating the constantly changing social distancing regulations. Jeanie Ambrosio joins Jadatalks Miami as the keynote speaker this year to discuss the new spaces creators find themselves in and where we can all find purpose in these uncharted waters.

Tune in December 3 at 3 pm EST to hear from our guest speaker Jeanie Ambrosio, Associate Curator of the Margulies Collection, during this pre-recorded streaming art conversation.

Jeanie Ambrosio was born in Fort Lauderdale and continues to live and work in South Florida. She works at the Margulies Collection at the Warehouse in Miami serving both as associate curator and assistant to collector Martin Z. Margulies. Since 2010, Ambro
sio has curated and produced numerous contemporary art exhibitions for institutions including FAU, Broward
College, The Margulies Collection at the Warehouse and USF. Her most recent curatorial projects include an online collaboration with artist/curator AdrienneRose Gionta of 15 artists
from South Florida found here: whyshouldntwe.com and an exhibition of 139 historic photographs culled from the collection of Martin Z. Margulies on display at the Ritter Art Gallery, University Galleries, FAU in early 2020. Ambrosio is a founder and collaborator of the writing collective The Cabbage Palm who produce reviews and interviews of artists and arts
professionals. She received a BA in art history and a BFA in photography from Florida Atlantic University in 2013. She attended the University of South Florida where she was the recipient of the James Rosenquist Fellowship and received her MA in art history specializing in contemporary art and photography in 2018.

Join us on December 3-6, 2020 during Miami Art Week at Jada Art Fair. Jada Art Fair was founded by local Miami artists in 2019 as an art movement that has since branched out to various countries, having had its own gallery at Jada Paris Art Week just last month in France. Jada Miami Art Fair 2020 will feature over 120 pieces, including paintings, multimedia installations, murals, and sculptures in its 4-day fair (Dec. 3rd – 6th). As a continuous commitment to education, Jada Miami Art Fair will also host JadaTalks — a conference panel of local and national scholars, business leaders, trend setters, and noteworthy artists, both in presence and virtually JadaTV.com. Jada Miami Art Fair is situated in Normandy Isle (Miami Beach), with 5000sf of exhibiting space, divided into 4 main galleries, featuring original works and special collector-edition art prints.
